What is the REenergise campaign?
REenergise calls on some of Australia’s biggest electricity using companies to make the switch to 100% renewable electricity, because it’s better for the environment, and it’s better for the bottom line.
Why this campaign?
Australia is one of the sunniest and windiest countries in the world, and Aussies just love renewables.
However, rather than powering our economy through our ample sunshine and abundant wind, most of our electricity still comes from burning coal. And coal is a leading cause of climate change.
Large companies account for 70% of emissions from electricity in Australia. That’s a lot of carbon pollution generated by offices, stores and factories across the country.
But these companies can switch to 100% renewable electricity! And if they do, they will help clean up our electricity system, create new jobs and cut huge amounts of carbon pollution along the way.
The business benefits of switching to renewable energy are huge – cheaper power, cleaner air and water, happier staff and happier customers. In fact, 70% of Australians want Aussie businesses to make the switch!
Switching to renewable electricity for business now just makes sense. It’s cheaper and cleaner. It’s better for the planet. It’s better for business.
That’s why over 250 companies around the world and here in Australia have signed up to RE100 – a global initiative of major corporations powering up with 100% renewable electricity.

Ranking criteria and methodology
The website ranks companies on three important steps – committing to powering operations with 100% renewable electricity by 2030, signing a power purchase agreement with a wind or solar farm, and investing in on-site solar.
