100% Renewable Electricity Commitment by 2030
Sydney Airport has not yet made a public commitment to 100% renewable electricity. It is however committed to being carbon neutral by 2025.
Power Purchase Agreement
Sydney Airport has entered into an eight year contract to secure renewable energy from the 273MW Sapphire Wind Farm, near Glenn Innes and 134 MW Crudine Ridge Wind Farm, near Mudgee. Electricity contracted under the agreement represents up to 75 per cent of Sydney Airport’s electricity consumption.
Sydney Airport has installed a solar array at its T1 precinct, generating over half a megawatt of renewable energy.
